You were right infidel. After drying for a day the WIF is off, and my cruse control works, but the "wait to start" does not go off. Will have to check the manual to see if I can find out what controls that.

You mention a starwheel. What and where is it. So far I have not seen it mentioned before.

Interesting reading to be sure. I think what I have learned is I should get some help from someone who knows what they are doing. If I start doing anything like this myself I will wait until next spring. I might get into something that will take time and I don't want her out of commission over the winter. Living in the country I need something I can depend on starting and getting through the snow.

Computers are so simple compared to this.

I am thinking I should get, if it exists, a module to plug into my computer so read the codes. I used to see adds for other vehicles all the time, but now that I am looking I am coming up blank. Does anyone have any suggestions?

 

You don't need a code reader for your simple 12 valve, it has one built in.

Even though it says it doesn't work on '97 I think it's a typo.
I've never come across a '97 that it didn't work on.
