Re:injector/delivery help please

hi all,
well i put the 370's in yesterday and all i can say is wow ;D
first off i would like to thank everyone here for thier opinions.next i have to say thanks to Rod at Wildcat Diesel.the man even took the time to e-mail me back on thanksgiving day with prices and options that would work for me.he also took about 30 minutes of his time over the phone to explain everything i would need to know and look out for.
also i have to thank turbo thom(preston) and Big ugly(josiah) for helping me with the install.seeing as how i have never done a project like this,it was great having someone there to oversea things.also have to thank Jeff Garmon at Garmon Diesel Performance for letting me use his shop and letting me borow a couple of tools that made the install go much easier.and last but not least David Dunbar of Diesel Performance Motorsports for the extended dyno runs to see what numbers we could get.
now for the numbers.i was at 250.4 hp with 622 torque.with the 370's i jumped to 345.1hp and 735.6 torque.95 hp gain, not bad at all ;D. egt's went up to 1500 when i took it out in the parking lot and really stood on it.but as far as the drive home,no difference in egt's at all.but the difference was really noticable when i stood on it while doing 70 mph.made the ride home really enjoyable.
well that's enough for now.
thanks again everyone,
mike
Re:injector/delivery help please

it did smoke a bit when it was up on the dyno and when i was WOT out in the parking lot seeing what it would do.but out on the highway and cruising around town today,i didn't notice any difference from the set-up i had with the stock injectors.so far i'm pleased.
as far as the hp gain from the injectors, this was the latest BOMB i did.i had the plate and spring kit installed over the summer.as well as the timing and turbo/wastegate.if you read the signature,i left the previous dyno run listed with the date.this dyno run was with the injectors added.so as you can see,i gained 95 hp yesterday.

mike

ATTENTION:
if your 160 pump has "167" delivery valves stock...DO NOT TRY "181's".......your truck will not run

MB
I was wandering how you liked your 4kgov kit. I was thinking about getting one. How does it drive? is the throttle hard to control when you hit a bump?
Thanks
Aaron

Re:injector/delivery help please

I sent my order into Piers today. I can't wate until the install begins. I think it will take two cases of beer one trip to the hospital and maybe a trip to a church aftwards to pray for forgiveness for all the cuss wards said. This is of course after we run the truck through the shop when someone leaves it in gear with the engine running.
don't laugh It has all happend to us before.

John P;
You've rode in my truck, how do you think it will do with a set of 370's and a 4k gov kit?
I just put a Scotty II on it.
These are my next mods. but I'm worried about EGT's because I haul with mine regulary.
I don't want to change to a HX40 yet because of my brake and pipes so I may try modifying my HX35 some if I have EGT probs.
Your truck is alot like mine ( I know you've got other mods but I'm getting there ) and I would like to eventually like to get some where close to what you are runnin and still work it.
Any thoughts are welcome.

THANKS ( and Micah still talks about riding in your truckwith a smile ;D )

: Eddie : 8)

Eddie:

I think your truck will do GREAT with a set of 370's and
the 4K Governor Spring Kit!! ;D

The "Scotty II" Air Filter is going to help you alot. It
has lowered my EGT's by 150 degrees! As far as your
turbo, I wouldn't worry about the HX-35. I ran my 96'
with the HX-35 for awhile before I put Piers' HX-40 on.
The EGT temperatures are going to be higher with the
HX-35 than they will be with Piers' HX-40, but you can
always "control" that with your right foot! If you do
have an EGT problem with the HX-35, you can always
go to a 16cm housing to lower the temperatures some.
Those housings are priced pretty good now. I would
check with Piers if you feel you need one later.

I am glad Micah enjoyed his ride! He is a fine young
Eddie! Good luck, and let me know how you like
the injectors!

--------
John_P

Re:injector/delivery help please

I echo what John P said ... but I'd like to add .... the 16 is a must with the 370's .... you won't have any low end issues. Also .... put a #4 plate in there. Turn your no air screw in two turns. Your truck will rock!
