injection pump?

i just bought a 95 dually 5sp 4x4. it was running on 5cyl. i narrowed it down to #1 cyl. I am not sure what they are call, but its on top of the injection pump ware the injector lines screw on to. they have the 2 bolts holding them in. But anyhow, the #1 one was broke in half. i am guessing this is the problem of it running on 5. i am guessing it got water in it and hydro locked it and busted it in half. I drained the filter and sure enough it was about a 1/4 filled with nasty rusty water.
SO can i buy one of them or will i have to buy a whole friggen pump?? i havn't been able to find any on ebay, craigslist, or on here.

You can get the barrel replaced, but it will need to be calibrated afterward, so you may as well send it to a pump shop and have it completely gone through.

Other option is buying a used one. You can pick up a used pump for $300-500 in many cases. And being that your truck is a 175hp engine, you can get a 180 or a 215 pump as an upgrade.

Take about 2 hours to get the pump off at a steady pace. Only special tool you need is a gear puller (steering wheel puller) to get the gear off. Not sure what it would cost to have your pump repaired, that you'll have to phone around and see. I am almost certain a used pump will be the most economical choice. Any 94-98 pump will work, but the 96-98 are a bit better in terms of cam design. If you go to Competitiondiesel.com, there is a large classified section there, usually with several pumps for sale at any time.

I understand that the pre-96 pumps sometimes had a problem with the barrels I would look for a 96-98 pump.

I just had my pump repaired for an oil leak and inspection of the rest of the pump. No other parts needed than a $36 rod and the gaskets to reassemble. The labor charge was $940. The upside is I know all my internals are good and illustrates that ULSD DOES NOT need additives.
