Well first things first it should be a 4speed 4th of course being overdrive.
Next if you look under your truck just behind the motor there should be a aluminum square dish think bolted you the bottom of the transmission your filter will be under there.
Well it shouldn't have a electric fuel pump to get hot and quit.
You said you changed all the filters did you get the fuel filter on the drivers side of the block? Def sounds like a fuel issue to me if that stuff helped out I'd say put some diesel conditioner through it like put it in and run it hard.

hi
if the trany pan is stock it will be steel not alu !
if your tps is bad you will not have od
idel speed should be app 800 rpm or stalling may occur especialy if running the ac . it can be adjusted up with 10 mm wrenches .
fuel filter may be dirty , or pick up screen in tank cloged or fuel heater screen on lift pump cloged .
the ticking may have been the preheater relays ? driver side fender well under hood .

AAARGH... FUEL FILTER IS THE ONE I FORGOT TO BUY!...ive looked for an overdrive button or switc and cant seem to find one any where! but when i checked the fuse box there was no fuse i the blo motor slot and a 20A for the engine when it says it hould be 10A... wuld this be because im running on 2 batteries oe deep cell and one standard? also ive gotthis filterminder thingy on top of my airfilter housing that says i need to change my h2o vacuum filter but my auto parts dealer says there is no such thing...would this be the water/fuel separator cylinder?

Your OD switch will be a square push button left of the cupholders on your dash.
Replace that fuel filter.
Ummm it could blow stuff on that circut but if its for the blower motor I think it's safe to say thats not your problem. These trucks do run two batteries from factory I can't say much on deep n one regular battery.
That little thing on you air filter box is to tell you when your air filter needs replacing.
Hey gotta learn somehow n theres only one to way to learn n its by other people who know what you need to know teachering people who don't it's life. Your tps sensor is short for throttle positioning sensor if I remember right from my dads 95 auto it is was the injection pump where the throttle arm mounts to the pump.

Indigo,
I just had a very similar issue with my 06 not having much power above 45mph (dont know what that is in kph). I changed my fuel filter twice and ran some Power Source fuel additive through a full tank. Runs great now. I dont know how easy it is to replace the fuel filter on the 1st gen trucks but its always good to keep a spare filter in the tool box. Its an easy road side fix if you ever break down.

The sweet smell could be your heater core starting to leak
your blower motor might be bad thats why it has a blown fuse
like said on the filter minder it lets you know your air filter is dirty
and the click tick tick tick could mean you need to run the over head (valves)or it might be your tape deck?also when you change the fuel filter ,down below it is a hand pump (black rubber button ) push that several times till you get fuel out the air bleed on top of the filter . also your truck should be running at 750-800 rpm at idle . its quite common for them to stall if not adjusted right.age takes its toll.
trans filter is in side the square pan on the trans careful its full of oil and can make a big mess when you remove the bolts
also welcome to DTR this is by far the #1 place to keep you Dodge running right
