Idle Hang Issue after adjusting low idle screw
This is driving me crazy! I finally achieved the art of adjusting the 4K GSs...what a pain! Right now my truck is idling around 750 in drive with AC. and around 925 in neutral. If I adjust the low idle screw any higher, the idle wants to hang in neutral when I rev it above 1,100-1,200. Will hit around 1,300 rpms and stays there. I can back off the idle screw just a little, then the idle does fine, and does not hang.
To let you know, I have dome quite a bit of tweaking on the governor springs. The guy I bought this truck from, installed the 4K GSK, but never adjusted them. Hence, when I got the truck, it would not idle when put in gear. Obviously, the springs were too tight!
I am wondering if I need to back off on the springs possibly another 1/8 - 1/4 turn or posibly tighening them by the same amount. Is it possible that the springs could be causing this idle hang?
