Ideal timing for 1998 185hp CTD

Howdy all,
Well as the title simply stated I'm wondering what the ideal timing for a 1998 185 hp (A/T) CTD is. I was thinking of doing 15.5*, I'm planning on eventually having a 500-550rwhp truck (won't really be for towing). It'll probably be on the stock gasket for a while though so I don't want anything crazy.

Along those same lines, I know the shaft the nut goes on should be really clean but aren't you supposed to replace the nut too?

Random quote from my own archives
If you pull a light load, or really know how to tell if your engine is lugging and know how to avoid lugging, then set the timing at 15.5-17 degrees.

If you pull a heavy load in the mountains, or start out with heavy loads like equipment trailers and backhoes, set the timing at no more than 13.5-14.5 degrees.

Thanks,

That should be fine. As far as the nut goes, thats your call. I havent had any problems reusing them.
