I think they sent me someone else's 4500. Is this at least for a dodge?

Just got my 4500 back from half way across the country after a rebuild with only 80k miles. I basicly wanted a larger input shaft, fully splined main shaft. so new syncros too. it ended up being 1500$ and needed gears and a counter shaft? no idea why. Either way this is what I got back and I'm pretty sure its not mine. It looks wrong. Esp the top cover. It has all those rusted brackets none of my dodges have, I didnt have a reverse switch in it when I sent it out, and the tail shaft looks pretty short. I'm not sure I know how to attach images right but there should be some below.

Looks good to me. They might have just rebuilt another core and sent u it and kept urs thats why u don't recognize the shift tower maybe, but those rusted brackets are normal, my nv4500 had them when I got it. I have the early shift cover with the one piece shift tower, but u can see those brackets. And the tailshaft is short, thats why I had to cut 6" off the front driveshaft when I did the swap, and add 6" in the rear.

the only thing that looks odd is the tailhousing looks like there use to be a 2wd housing on it and thats what left that outline around the 4x4 tailhousing? just a guess though

Probably an exchange. I paid $1695 for a rebuilt exchange from Blumenthals. I ordered it with the 1 3/8" shaft. When I got the tranny they threw in the cast iron tailshaft housing for free.
You have the '99 style trans.. IMHO its a much better shifting trans. It is alot shorter of a throw compared to the '97 trans that was in my truck. The only problem with the new style trans is you have to buy the shifter housing, and a new stick (I just went through all this). Go on Quad4x4.com and they have the nv4500 shifter assembley kit for around $200 it comes with everything including a new stick and ****.

Thanks everyone for ashuring me that its for a dodge and probably mine. Thanks for the info on the shift tower and all but I still have my original my truck was a 5speed. I bought a 6speed that got rebuilt 3 times in 15miles and ive had a case of it so back to the 5 speed I go. hopefully 5th gear stays on and I did like the longer contact area of the tail shaft on the 6speed.
