How much is a new mechanical lift pump?
In the process of putting my truck back together after replacing the timing case (KDP), I ...AHEM... "Somehow" cross threaded the fuel line into the top of the pump.
How much $$$ is this mechanical fuel pump (lift pump), and should I take some Vaseline to the Cummins dealer when I go to get one?
The timing case isn't that bad of a job, guys! Just take EVERYTHING off the truck forward of the engine, then you got 'er licked!

My brother-in-law replaced his on his 12V last year. If I recall correctly, I think he paid around $145 from Dodge. Not sure of any other sources for these.

I hope you're talking about the electric lift pump and not the mechanical!
If it's gonna cost that much, I'll stick an aftermarket electric pump on there!

I bought my last lift pump at NAPA for around $153. I think it was a carter. The Dodge dealer wanted $235 list but that is New Mexico. Just call around for pricing.

NAPA is about $135 and Cummins is about $160, at least in my area this is what they are charging.
You might be able to get a pump from a Case Tractor dealership. There is a fitting to interchange between the new and the old pump. If you have an early stlye fuel pump off a 1994-early 1996 this fitting is not interchangeable (unless maybe the lift pump is not the original anyway). The LP at the case dealer is around $95. FWIW - They are all the same Carter pump.

New Mexico has special pricing that is 20% to 80% higher than in the north east. Many times I can next day UPS it in from out of state for a 40% savings. That includes auto zone!!!!
