How much boost should a stock turbo make
On my 98 12/v I slid the fuel plate and cut and plugged the line going to the waste gate how much boost should I be making it will only hit 24 psi. and 2500 rpm I know I need a spring kit and I am considering a 4000 GSK will the spring help the stock turbo build more boost?

So How much boost should it make as set up? Do I have a boost leak? I would think it would make close to what my 01 does 36 psi w/ welded waste gate. with the line cut the waste gate should not open right?

thats 35psi for about a year and 40-45psi for 3 10second runs. I just made a HX35/40-14cmWG hybrid and will set to 40psi Max. The 35 and 40 use the same shaft but the 40 has a little larger exhaust wheel.

heykw,
My truck when stock only made about 25 lbs boost. With my current setup I can get in the upper 40's if I set it that high. I have it set at 38.
More fuel = more boost. A gks will not effect it very much.

With a fixed elbow out of a edge juice box put on my 96 I could hit 47lbs when it shifted to overdrive and lock up. I've pulled the auto out and don't know what its going to be with a manual.

heykw,
Another no cost way to get the fuel to come on quicker in the throttle range is to loosen your afc spring full loose and push the afc housing full forward. Depending how far you want to dig into the afc you can swap the big washers (that hold the rubber bellows). The lip on the forward washer restricts how far the afc can move forward.
have fun,
