How far can I slide the plate forward?

I finally got gauges in memorial weekend, next will be 4" pipe and #11 plate. Till I get the cash though thought I could slide the plate forward to get a little more power. If I slide it forward to far can that cause problem with the arm getting under it? Should it be safe only going 1/2 or 3/4 forward just to be sure?
thanks, pacmule

I'd push it all the way forward. no worries... I'd grind the big defuel bump off of it while you're at it

When you set the plate, either remove the solenoid, or turn the key on and pull it up, then you can stroke the gov. arm while you move the plate, to see where it will touch.

All the way forward any plate including the stocker can allow the gov arm to go under the plate.
Simple to check while you have the cover off.

Thanks guys for the input. This will be the first time I have opened up the pump so I want to try to understand everything good before I get in there. I think I understand know what to do I just got to doit, hopefully this week or next.

What kind of increase in EGT will this give me with stock exhaust? Last time I pulled our trailer(<5000lb) I lost momentum with a semi in front of me on a long steep hill then was doing about 2750 rpm in thierd, and hit 25 psi of boost and 1000° EGT.

A #11 is a perfect plate for a 215 pump and someone who wants to pull without egt issues and having to buy a new clutch. Put it FF and forget it. my .02
