how can you tell if your tranny has been rebuilt/modded??

i got this truck 2nd hand....its shifts pretty hard/crisp in all gears during lockup the rpms drop about 200 ....if i give it plenty of throttle and make it rev to 2400rpm then the needle drops about 400 to 500 between shifts and in 3rd at that high rpm the lock up doesnt make it drop any (very good)

i dunno how stock trannies are supposed to feel i believe i have the original tranny....

do u guys think it got rebuilt and had a shift kit put in?? lots of rebuilds have the shift kits added but how to tell ??

truck has no power mods no gsk or no plate mod

ps during light throttle(below 1800rpm) the tach doesnt drop much at all durign shifts except lockup which leads me to think its the stock tranny

oh yeah and what exactly IS the stall speed of the stock converters?? 2000??? 2000 would be pretty good

If you look at the TC and spin it a stock has no drain hole, an upgrade does.

At the bottom of the bell housing there will be a small plate held on by 3 small (10MM I believe) screws. Remove the 3 small screws and you can see the torque converter. Bump the engine and look for a drain plug on the torque converter.
