Hot Tranny

In my Suburban I am running a 92 Intercooled Cummins and a Tranny I pulled from an 01 and swapped valve bodies and overdrive shafts to turn my 47RE to an RH. Anyway, I was towing some 4 wheeler in the mountains yesterday at low speeds and my tranny tempos just kept climbing and climbing. I pulled over and melted snow on the cooler when it got to 280 degrees. It is not exchanging heat with collant and usually runs super cold. I am embarresed that my tranny would get that hot pulling a couple of 4 wheelers in the mountains slowly in the snow. How should I fix this problem?

If your torque convertor is not locking up, you will make heat. Do you remember that last "shift"? My truck will cool the trans fluid 15* almost instantly when the convertor locks.
