Holes in intake manifold, should they be plugged?
when I was installing my boost guage, I noticed a couple of holes on the intake manifold that were not plugged. I bought the truck a few months ago, so I'm still learning about things the PO did, or didn't do. Just wanted to run the pics by the list to see if this is normal. I circled the holes in red.
BTW, here's where I fitted the boost plug on the intake.
EDIT: sorry, just realized I posted this to the wrong forum, should be in "12 Valve Engine and Drivetrain"

The only one I would be suspicious about is the second picture. Most of the intake bolts are drilled straight into the intake. If that hole doesn't "dead bottom" I may be putting a bolt in it. I'm sure a more knowledgeable 12 valve guy will chime in here.

Those "holes" don't look like a problem to me. I can't see into them very well but they just appear to be unused mounting spaces for that engine when used in a different vehicle.
The boost gauge is mounted properly as well Now get out there and enjoy that 12 valve, as it is a REAL diesel
