High miles on DIY turbo rebuild?
Anyone installed a quality turbo rebuild kit on a leaking turbo, and then put a bunch of uneventful miles on it afterwards?
Trying to gauge how much risk is involved rebuilding this s300 turbo I got. The bearings are fine but it probably needs new seals. I think its pushing boost into the oil drain and causing lots of blow-by.
Also trying to figure out if I need a different thrust bearing if I intend on upgrading to twins later. Im guessing yes, due to the extra load.

I rebuilt my hx35 at 180k, at 270k now and its good as new. Been getting pushed over 30-35psi since about 120k. As long as the center isn't worn out not much to it.
