Help: NV5600 6spd into a 95 Automatic truck

I obtained a 2001 donor truck with NV 5600 and 241 transfer case. The installation is going fairly well but I need help with the hook up of the speedometer and possibly the cruise control. At issue is the lack of speedometer sending unit on the transfer case. The OEM transfer case had a gear driven sending unit on the tailshaft. The 241 has a casting that is plugged but there is no worm gear on the output shaft even if the casting were machined to take the sending unit. I have received differing opinions as to the use of the abs sending unit on the rear differential but would like some input from those who have made the same swap successfully. Thanks in advance.

Why wouldn't you simply swap in the 29 spline input from the 2001 transfer case for the 23 spline on your 95 and use that 241?

I was hoping to keep other transfer case intact for resale and was hoping that another speedo pickup location was available. Also, I was unaware that was a possibility. I may end up doing just that. Thanks,

Thanks to Patdaly I took a look at the transfer cases and both were 241DHD's. Instead of tearing the whole case apart I took the back off of both and replaced the output shaft instead of the input shaft. They went back together without problems and I now have the proper speedo sender. The good news is also I used the back up light sensor out of the NV5600 and hooked into the back up sensor of the truck wiring by deleting the black/wht wire. I may also remove the auto trans heat sending unit and put it into the PTO cover and will end up with an overheating alarm. (Not sure if the temp ranges are equivalent but it might be an easy thing to do) will post on that later. Looks like I'm good to go on all the other hook ups. The trans and tranfer cases are the same length, so no driveshaft work was needed. I'm doing some other mods and hope to be running this weekend. Thanks again to Pat for his suggestion.

Cool sounds like a piece of cake now. One thing I can say is I'm pretty sure the factory auto dummy light doesn't come on until somewhere around 260 degrees, you don't want the NV getting any where near that. Standard temp gauge would be better, I have one on the PTO cover of my 5 speed.

If your pulling extra heavy loads put some PTO coolers on the NV 5600 it will help cool it I noticed my NV 5600s run cooler now.
