i locked myself out of my 91 dodge 350. it is 11 degrees outside! what shape is the long thin flat piece of metal i need and where abouts do i introduce it?

 

I can't help you with the flat metal thing but I generally unscrew my antenna and use it to hit the door lock button from the top of the door. Not sure if that's an option for you.

 

Call AAA, pry open the rear slider window, or break the vent window as it is easy to replace.

Then make a spare key.

 

the local cops can open it one way or another!

 

All you need is a piece of string:

 

Or you can bend a coat hanger and gently work it in through the vent window weatherstrip and flip open the vent window latch without any damage. Use some silicone spray to lube the weatherstrip and make the maneuvering easier.
