Help! Dropped a bolt down my preheater
Have my air horn off and dropped a nut into the opening below.
It rolled a ways down, I can't see it. Haven't been able to retrieve with a magnet. What's the best way to get at it. It's a #10 nut, this is my intake so I assume I can't leave it, or I would.
Any suggestions I appreciate it, I'm stuck

Took off the plenum, retrieved the nut. But the plenum gasket tore. Can I put it back together and patch some gasket maker or do I have to wait for a new gasket which won't come till Wednesday ?
Thanks

Just clean the head and plenum with laquor thinner or acetone, put a THIN bead of ultra-black or "the right stuff" silicone on the head and bolt the plenum down. it WILL NOT leak and make a longer lasting seal than the gasket. Been doing this for 40 years and no problems as long as the gasket is NOT used to set clearance on some transmission bearings.
