Help a 3rd genner looking at a 94
buddy of mine is selling his old ranch truck. 1994 reg cab, 4x4, auto. 350k on the clock and the auto trans started acting up. It moves under it's own power, but slips horribly. The truck has the normal wear and tear that a ranch truck would have including scratches, dents, stains, torn seats etc. The engine runs great, and the truck is 100% stock. I've driven the truck before the trans started slipping and it got great fuel mileage, but seemed to be somewhat gutless as far as power was concerned. My goal is to get this truck back on the road, make a few mods to increase fuel mileage, but I'll need to get the tranny fixed. What would be a fair price for the truck? Any suggestions on the tranny problem / repair. thanks,
J.P.

surprisingly, this truck hasn't seen much time pulling trailers or anything like that. Most of the dents came from backing into things. Most of the miles were driven between my buddys house and his farm. I agree on the price of about 3k given the amount of $ I'll have to spend to get it roadworthy. Any ideas on whats wrong with the tranny. From searching the forums I've come up with the idea that it may be a faulty governor pressure solenoid or a faulty throttle position sensor. leaning more towards the solenoid as the truck seems to be slipping heavily trying to move it around, or maybe it's stuck in 3rd or overdrive.
