HELP 12v fueling problems!!!!!

all I know when I step on it at like 60-65 and try and get it to get moving fast to say 75-80 it just sputters, falls on its face and goes nowhere and has no power....now if I slowly speed up it will go just fine....kind of sounded like it was missing like a gas motor

ps. there is no more black smoke looked to be only a gray/white haze.

I was thinking timing slip...fuel pressure shot, maybe HG blown I dont know????

Might check your filter screen before the lift pump to see if it is clean. When was the last time you changed fuel filter?
Just a thought.

Cummins Freak,

One of mine does the same thing. It is really bad when it is cold out. I can even start it when warm(engine), floor it, it won't rev to 2000rpms. It will pop and backfire and kill every skeeter in a 100 ft radius. The smoke is white/blue and burns your eyes bad.

If I get on it slowly and then floor it, it runs very strong.

Timing has been set to 15.5 and filter&prescreen, lift pump are new. Fuel lines are new, except for steel line to tank. My pressure is 18-22. I'm pretty sure I messed my govenor up when I added a few shims to the inner springs.

Good luck and please let us know if you figure it out.

Thanks

Fly

if you said youjust did the gov washer shims that could be part of it
i know when i did mine it took 3 times to get it right if the shim is touching the other spring it wont run right. i had to grind the od of the shim so it didnt touch just a thought or the little screen where the fuel heater is plugs up alot on mine but i run 100% bio

Another thing to check is if the fuel shut off solenoid is pulling all the way up. If it is sticking part way up the engine will run good until you try to get a lot of fuel at once.
