head light switch
My 95 CTD switch just quit (burned) on me. I was told it very common problem on dodge truck. Anyone out there have similar problem?

Re:head light switch
The switch recall is like only on the 95-97 3500 models only, i tried getting it taken care of under recall, but they declined. Did you smell the burning wires in cab ? i did, and saw smoke too..i am running aftermarket blue headlights though, i wonder if i change them out it won't burn up the switch?>

Re:head light switch
I installed a relay on my switch before the recall, and it still burned out. I finally figured out...after the third switch, that the problem was that if I ran for a long period with the dash lights dimmed, the rheostat would heat up and fry the two forward connectors on the switch.
I now carry the dealer replacement switch as a spare, but I have had no trouble for a couple of years as long as I do not run with the dash lights dimmed.

Re:head light switch
I replaced the switch, noticed the female connector melted. Can't figure why. I am not using aftermarket headlights. The new switch became warmer in 30 sec when headlight were turned on .
