have engine out and apart! Ques about cam bearing/
i got the engine apart no real indication of oil starvation! bearing have spots on them from possibility having water in the oil! pulled the cam out to check cam bearings, and there's only one, one front cam bearing, is this all cummins used in these cause gasoline engines have 5 or 6! cam doesn't look tore up! any ideas or answers

i have to admit it struck me as real weird also, i was just used to seeing cam bearing. and i looked it up in the factory rebuild book, if they are out of spec they say to replace the block.

not at the moment! ask me tomarrow i may cahnge my mind, i'm putting it back together in the morning. it should be a different truck when it done. new trans,convert,rod,mains,cam bushing,and some timing. i have a 91 12 valve engine 4 sale i bought in case this one was bad if you know anyone interested 130,000 miles engine is complete
