Grey valve cover gaskets ????

Bought new gaskets from cummins and they are grey , I read in the valve adj. procedure not to use the grey ones , I told that to the parts guy and he said the grey ones part # superseed the black ones and the black # is no longer in use ???? Are these marine gaskets ???? OK to use them ????? They seem to fit the covers OK never started the truck with them on yet though . What gives ????

I have reused my grey ones about five time now. I was told by a Cummins mechanic to get the grey ones.

I got these

when i went and bought all six of them, and the o rings for the little screws at the top, Having them torqued down to 18 ft lbs, i have not had one leak out of them, I was also informed that they were better as well, how or why i dont know... But so far so good..

Get them if you have em..

Well put them on no leaks yet like the black ones , they were all leaking , the grey ones seem softer ,never saw a new black one so don't know if they were soft like this when new.
