Goofy Oil Pressure...

Normally my oil pressure never goes below 40 at idle and stays at about 45 while driving. Here lately it has been dropping down into the 30's at idle and low RPM and then will come up to a little more than 40 while driving.

I also found a oil leak at the front of the engine down close to the filter (although not the filter) and it will leak more the longer it is driven at high RPM's. Like on the highway a few weeks ago I was doing 85-90mph for a full 30 miles or so and after I parked the truck and saw it the next morning it had a BIG oil spot under the front...(hasn't leaked that bad since though)

Do you guys think these could be relevant to eachother, maybe just the oil pressure sensor of some sort not sealed right or something? Thanks to anyone with some insight!!

The oil pressure sensor for your gauge i'm fairly certain is on the other side of the engine from the oil filter.. down just below the TPS sensor on the side of the block.. the valve cover isnt leaking down the side of the block is it?

No, the leak is just down around close to the air conditioner deal that is run by the belt it looks like. I have a new headgasket and new valve cover gaskets on the truck...

Have you killed you KDP yet some times when it falls out it can get shot into the front cover and create a hole or crack the cover quite low then at highway speed the wind could blow the oil back on the motor.
