going to change fluid and filter. Do I need to get 17 quarts thats what book says. what kind of fluid is recomened? I am considering running amsoil or a syn blend. Thanks

 

Im thinking I only put about 14 quarts back in mine when i did the converter swap, so i dont know. I just run chrysler ATF+3 from advance auto parts. No problems yet, and about $2 a quart.

I bought the 17 qts as reccomended. Dropped the pan, replaced the filter, then put 5 qts back in it. At first I was like ***, did a search and learned the 17qts is with the converter. Just the pan and it is about 5qts.
