I have the Goerend Triple Disc / Goerend Trans.
Best mod I've ever done to the truck hands down.

You won't be dissapointed

He set it up so I can lock it up in 2nd -3rd and OD and it now downshifts from OD to 3rd with conv locked up . I think I spent 595 and it was the best investment I have done along with TC

Did you do the converter and the valve body at the same time?

Anybody who has ever owned one with mech knowledge need new TC & VB ??? OK , it is this simple , We all know the stock conv is too soft from fact and we all know they have their shifting quirks which = time for new TC & VB

Yes, I agree that the TC and valve body need upgrading. I am just trying to decide whether or not I should do the Transgo or full Goerend valve body. The Goerend is a little steep, especially if the Transgo will do the same job. I appreciate all the input.

Goerend Bros Service

Well there are other reasons to buy, REPUTATION. I had my tranny redone 5 years ago(75000 miles) ago. Reenforced flywheel, Goerend Triple Disc, new VB, and it was like a different truck.
So several weeks ago, I was getting on it and my truck shifted into OD and then it immettiately downshifts....not so good. Broken stock input shaft, took out the pump and worst of all, damaged the hub on the torque converter-TRASHED!!
Dave Goerend sent me another converter! As far as I am concerned, he didn't have to, but he did anyway. What can I say, good man! Answered my prayers.....

P.S. I'm going with a billet input this time

Not to be smart but I would expect a new one considering I spent 1300 with lifetime warranty

Well, I called Goerend today and my converter is supposed to be here this evening! I am having some other stuff done too. Dave sent me a new front band, strut, anchor, and apply lever (I believe he said it was a 4:2). Also, I am having the tranny shop to do a new Sonnax accumulator, rear servo, "Super hold" 2nd gear servo, and billet front servo cover. I have given serious thought to a billet input shaft. But, I am only probably right now around 275hp and I have no plans to go bigger. I am fine where I am at. Both Dave Goerend and my tranny shop told me that a stock shaft would be fine. I do pull some but not very much and not very often. And, I don't drive this rig like I'm trying to punish it. And, $750.00 is alot of money for something I "might" need. But, I really appreciate all the info. This is great stuff!

What did you decide on the valve body. I have daves converter and like it but the truck still doesn't seem to pull like it should. Once the converter is locked no problems. I just wonder if I need a valve body

Right now with funds tight, I am just doing the converter. I basically have a Transgo TFOD diesel shift kit right now. I had a local tranny shop work on it and the guy told me that I have basically the same thing only he used parts from Sonnax. But, I did get the band, strut, anchor, and apply lever so I can add a valve body in the future if I can swing it.

Did you ask Dave about this? When I bought my converter he asked if I had a shift kit in the truck. Told him no and he pretty much said they were junk, just in lighter terms. I don't know much about valve bodys but it didn't sound like he was to fond on the transgo kit.
