Gauging the CTD

Okay, I swapped a 12V into my '69 Ford and need to hook up some gauges. I need to install two pipe thread senders, one for oil pressure and one for water temp.

Can I pull oil pressure off the plug on top of the oil filter (by the turbo oil line)? Or is there a better place?

And what about water temp? Is that at the back of the head on the drivers side? If so I can't use it because it's too tight against my firewall.

Also, can I put a low pressure fuel pressure gauge on the bleed screw on top of the fuel filter?

Thanks

Erik

The port on the oil filter housing will work but the pressure will read about 20 psi higher than the stock location.
Don't know of anther place to put the water temp sender other than the rear of the head but there are quite a few ports that I'm not sure of on the drivers side.
I wouldn't attach a gauge directly to the bleed screw port, the tapped hole is too small, vibration will break it off, plus it will be more hassle to bleed after a filter change. Not much room there also.
I tap an 1/8'' port into the top of the injection pump inlet banjo bolt for FP. Very easy to do, not in the way of anything.

I found the handy engine diagram and have located the stock oil pressure sender location. I guess now the question is, which location will give me a range similar to the gas motor that was in before (0-60 psi) so the gauge makes sense?

The stock location will read lower but during a cold weather start-up could still easily exceed 60 psi. I've never seen a 12 valve go over 80, but 24s can hit over 100 psi.
