Gasket for my shifter on an NV4500

Got a new shifter (http://www.allstategear.com/Shifter%...5982%20KIT.jpg), The bottom of the rubber is actually metal and don't think it will seal so well, what should I use as a gasket between it an the transmission? I know i probably don't need anything special, but wanted to know if there was anything that would be a no no to use.

Permatex would be my first choice if you really don't trust the seal/boot as is.

I 2nd that. I've used black permatex (and red) on all my diff covers and shifters on my jeeps for over a decade now. no issues.
