Fuel Shutoff solenoid kaput...
Bummer... It's bad for sure... I've got voltage to it during start, I even took it apart and bench-tested it... when putting 12v+ to the "pull" coil, it does absolutely nothing.
The relay is new, and works fine, and the starter works perfectly.
My question is... I've heard of the starter "sticking" and burning up the solenoid... Isn't this something I'd notice? I'm familiar with Chevy starters that stick "on" after the key is released...
Mine behaves exactly as it should..
I just don't wanna burn up the new one...even though I found one for $125 shipped..
At least when parts on the CTD go bad, they *typically* don't leave you stranded...
And yeah, the choke cable idea crossed my mind for a little while..

Who knows how it went out?? If you got another one thru fosters I would suggest to get a set of new starter contacts and install them also. It is a simple 30 minute task. Goodluck,,Rick
