Fuel problem

Fuel problem
I have just put on a new imjection pump on my 91 cummins. When I shut it off it runs for about 10 seconds after the key is turned. I see the lever (shut off??) on the side of the pump is leaking a bit (drips every 7-8 seconds) When the engine dies it will not start again unless I crack the injector lines - once it bleeds itself it runs like a top as long as I want her to - when I shut it down it will not start again without cracking the lines. Is it possible that it is draining the pump because it is sucking the air from the leak on the injector side of the fuel shut off solenoid? Thanks for your advice.

if you have to crack the lines then you are losing prime and that leak you have found is the first place to start. also make sure that solenoid is moving to the off position when you turn the key off

I have installed a new o-ring on the shut off lever and the leak has stopped. I put a new fuel filter on and have changed the lift pump. The truck ran excellent for about 20 minutes then died as if it ran out of fuel. I shut it down three times and it fired up at the touch of the key before it died. I was smiling! The fourth shut off it would not start again. Now I need to bleed the system like before but the difference this time is that it only runs for about 2 minutes and then dies UNLESS I hold the throttle wide open in which case it stays at an idle RPM. I see a line at the tank is wet. I'm not sure which one is the return -supply but would this cause the issues I am seeing? I think there is some electrical issues too as the juice is drianed if I turn on any device in the cab. I am not sure but I think the two are seperate issues. I tried running a hot wire to the shut off solenoid but it made no difference in how it ran - or did not run is a better way of putting things. Anyone have any other thoughts or suggestions?

I replaced the supply line from the lift pump to the tank and she runs and starts like new! The electrical appears to be a lot better too - I suspect the regulator is tired as there is a lot of pulsating going on. Thanks to those who offered help.
