Hey, I installed my fuel pressure gauge lastnite, ran it for the first time this morning. It holds at 28 psi at all times, idle and to the floor. If you remember its been realy hard starting, so I did a little expirement. Lastnite I took the fuel cap off and left it off. This morning it started right up, all 6 cylenders at once, no white smoke. I drove it around lightly(cap still off) untill it was warm. When I smash the throttle, it blows pure black smoke with no missing or white smoke, unless I put it all the way to the floor for a second, then it has slight white smoke and a slight miss (might even be in my imagination). So I gues it the air dog was causing some type of suction in the tank. Any thoughts? I appreciate everyones suggestions! Thanks for the help! Im going to advance the timing and see if that helps the minor miss and smoke at high rpm. Ill let ya know how it goes.

 

Check your vent on your tank. I had one plug on me and it had some of the same problems you did. It wouldnt suprise if your pick up tube had a pin hole in it either.
