i have to pull the head off to put a new head gasket on. and while i had it apart and was working on it i plan on replacing the fuel lines from the tank up. my question is what size hoses do i need and how long of each? any certain type of hose i should go with? any help is aprecciated.

Supply is 3/8", return is 5/16". I bought 18 feet, that would have been enough, I ended up running steel lines from the front of the tank to up under the drivers footwell area.

Any hose you buy, make sure it is diesel rated.

I had extra hose with 12' on a standard cab.
Best advice is to crawl under and measure, it's not that hard.

I agree with Infidel, measure and save money. First rate hose is no longer cheap.

On the 96 do not forget to pull the suction out of the tank and check that hose too!

No kidding.
The kind I use is now $2/ft, but it will last as long as I live.
I use the Trident 365 here http://www.bluewatershipsstore.com/detail.aspx?ID=6891
