fuel heater
#2
The heater can help keep you from walking in sub zero temps if your fuel starts gelling and plugs the filter. Problem with fuel that is just starting to gel is that it will let you get several miles from home before plugging up enough to kill the engine.
If you live where it rarely drops below 0°F you probably can get by without a heater.
You decide.

keep the howes to it in the winter. I have several tractors without heaters that I run all winter no problem. by the way, my wires melted too. I bought a new harness for the heater from cummins.
If it gets down to 5* or less, you'll probably be hoofing it in a area with no cell service.
