Fuel Gauge Diagnosis Procedure?

Fuel Gauge Diagnosis Procedure?
My fuel gauge reads below zero all the time.
I was just wondering if there was an established procedure for diagnosis of this or if there is a part that commonly fails.

The sender fails on almost every truck. New sender is about $60 at the dealer.
Don't let them tell you the sender isn't available separately and try to sell you the entire module for $300.
To access the sender you will have to either drop the tank or tilt the bed up.
I prefer tilting the bed, don't have to mess around with a sloshing tank of fuel especially with a broken gauge since you don't know how much is in it.
Don't know how your GN is attached though, might make tilting impossible.
Here's more info with some links that may help you http://dodgeram.org/tech/repair/fuel...uel_sender.htm
