FS2500 Filtration System

Does anyone have any information on this product and how well it performs. I am thinking about getting one because that would be nice to not change the oil until 200,000 miles.

Any information is appreciated GOOD or BAD.

Thanks Adam

I am sure this will become another amsoil thread but I do have an FS2500 on my truck. I had the smae unit on my 01 and moved it to my 03. My oil looks good still transparent after 3K and I have the smarty REVO TNT on the truck. I dont know a whole lot about oil filtration but the tests have always come back good.

The filters are very expensive. I use TP filters in my Frantz I pay about 80 cents for a filter. TP filters to .05 microns.

That's what I use. Filters are literally free as I use Scott 1000 rolls. Filtration is no worse, if not better, than the FS2500. Frantz says it gets down to 1/10 of a micron but not sure how efficient it is at that level. No matter which system you get, I wouldn't go 200,000 miles before changing your oil.

I have one on my 6.7 and love it. I will send my next analysis off at 15,000 miles on oil.

Keep in mind the FS systems filter cartridges, while more expensive, last longet than the TP in the Franz. The Franz is supposed to be changed ever 3k miles and you need to add a quart to top it off, the FS (I think it's fs2500.com) is good for much longer intervals which, if you use synthetic oil, will probably pay for it self in saved oil from topping off.

Most old timers still think of the Franz as a gimmick that has lived on- they've been around since the 50's.

I usually don't add any oil when I change the TP element. The oil level may go from the "full" mark to maybe a hair below, but nothing to worry about. You're right about the frequent oil changes though. I think that's the main reason not to get a Frantz. But if you don't put that many miles a year on your truck then it's the best way to go imo.

I gave up on synthetic a while ago. Too much money. And my truck liked to drink it, not much but more than I was willing to give. I change the sump once a year( about 15,000 miles), and change the TP 3-3500 miles. The Frantz has been given a FFA certification, so it is a good system. It takes me about 15 minutes to change the TP, and I enjoy doing it. Tinkering

Frantz or the Motor Guard are by far the cheapest filter system.

The Motor Guard uses TP but has a different style of container. A fella by the name of Ralph Wood makes them. click here for more knowledge to by pass filters. The motor Guard is a little more money to purchase than the Frantz.

I heard the Motorguard is easier to change. How long can you go with the FS2500? Another option is Amsoil bypass, which you change at 40-50k miles. It gets down to 2 micron with 98% efficiency.
