front driveshaft parts confusion

just tried fitting a dorman 938-094 in '97 4x4
cross is slightly narrower than the yoke... seemed like it would work
(not sure I get the difference with the dorman 938-159)
but could not get the stupid Dorman 81020 strap bolts tightened cause the strap is slightly wider than the yoke and binds up
when trying to tighten the bolts.

anyone experience this or know better fitting straps?

many thanks

I don't know what ujoint that Dorman shaft uses, or what yoke is on your truck. The straps seem to be for the little Spicer 1310 ujoint, which is not used on these Dodge trucks. Pretty sure stock ujoint is a Dodge 7290 type.

Pictures and dimensions would help. (cup size and distance between clips) Do you know if inside clip or outside clip?
