Front Axle U Joints

Actually come to think of it I have seen that. Had a tractor that the clutch got greased real good when we accidently overfilled the transmission. It was a little low, we threw in a gallon and hit the field thinking that it probably needed another gallon. The thing held 13 gallons. Clutch slipped and when we figured out what had happened we drained it down, worked the tractor on light loads for a while and everything went back to normal. And yes we learned that it always leaked into the clutch area if if was filled to the top off mark. We just added enough to firm up the hydraulics when ever they got spongy, saved us the bother of checking.
We ran the thing minus 5 gallons for another 25 years. Perkins diesel, thousands and thousands of hours, and it still works hard. Has been reduced to bush hogging duty where we have worn out a couple of power takeoff gears. We just put fuel in it and run it hard. I think the direct injected long stroke low rpm is what makes it so fuel efficient and rugged. It refuses to die.
