So gauges are a requirement if you are going to make any kind of power.

yikes, you might want to check your timing!
but FWIW, 1400* (or 1600* for that matter) isn't going to hurt anything for 10-15 sec. if you're pulling a trailer, it's a whole different story

Yeah I need to check it, IP has a rebuilt sticker on it so not sure of actual timing or pump model. I dont have a dial indicator... or the 4" exhaust I need (still have cat and muffler) so thats not helping either.
