Finally Did it
I finally found some good used 5" exaust pipe at a repair shop for free and installed it on my truck. No cat and no muffler and the sound is great. Not too loud and just like a big truck.

I was actually a little surprised how quite mine was when I put on a 4" system and eliminated the cat. 1st it had a glasspak that resonated at 70 pretty bad, then I swapped on a Aeroturbine w/ resonator. Its a little better (deeper and more growl) sound overall with the Aeroturbine plus the resonation is much better. Hows your straight pipes sound in the cab at about 70 ?

Hey 74Dart, go ahead and get your timing bumped to 16* and if you haven't had a tune up (valve lash and overflow valve) do that too. I swear just between my new exhaust, timing and tune up it drives like a whole different truck. Gonna kill my KDP this weekend I hope and maybe do the governor washer trick soon I hope.

I did the washer trick, fantastic! Revs much faster. I had the locks turned in 2 clicks, but it's way better now with the washers. I have the locks just about 2 clicks more than finger tight. From a rolling start I can light up the tires. But it's a little touchy in the rain.

sound at 70 mph
With the TQ locked up and not pulling it has a semi loud drone but It stopps straight 6" under the bed for a crome turndown tip and I belive that will make it sound better. I will update you when I get it. Might hit the crome shop on highway 20 exit 5 in ga on my way home tomorrow to see about one.
