Cummins t-stat is pricey but better than replacing an aftermarket one several times.
A replacement fan clutch is available at any autoparts store.

If you go after market get a lifetime one, cuz you'll be replacing them regularly. I went through 5 in one year from Auto Zone. 2 locked up completely and the others failed and would not engage the fan enough to cool the engine. None of them failed near my home. I finally bought a new OEM from mopar4less and can hear it engage when it is supposed to and disengage when it is supposed to. It has been installed for about 2 years and roughly 160k miles.

I don't think they are available through Cummins only because their reman engines come without fans. You could try a IH/Case tractor dealer. They use Cummins engines and parts prices sometimes beat Cummins dealers.

Interesting, wonder if Autozone and Napa sell the same quality?
My Napa replacement clutch has been working great for over 100,000 miles.

I went with a mopar fan clutch but they just came out with a new style clutch that the old fan does not fit so you not only have to replace the clutch but also the fan.

03 Dodge Fan clutch failed!!

When this happened I thought it was an odd event but in reality it seems to be a common problem with most 03 Dodges with a cummins. Needless to say, had a wrapping sound in the front of the truck and could not figure out what the noise was from until one day I noticed my fan was engaged at any speed. When I check to see what was wrong I saw a cord dangling between the fan and the radiator. So, it appeared the fan clutch seized and spun the clutch hub thus snapping the sensor cord to the fan. Also, the whole house that the cord protrudes from is literally ready to fall off.

Thought about putting on a non-electric fan or a flex-lite fan assembly but believe either way error codes will be thrown and not sure if that is something I want to talked figuring out what resistors are needed to fool the ECM.

Any recommendation for replacement?

Thanks in advance!

You could remove your fan completely, easy process but I found it really doesn't help much. These engines like to have a load on them, never seem to warm up just idling. There are two options I've found work well. Set park brake and put truck in gear, warms up much quicker. Or install a locking cable like I did so you can set your idle speed higher.

I live in Central Wisconsin (average nights below 0, is 30) and winters are usually long and cold. To improve warmup time (less than 6 miles) I installed a webasto run-coolant heater on an 03 Ram. These come with a 24hr or 7 day programer so that it will start up on its own so the truck is pre-warmed without the engine running. These will also turnt eh heater on in the cab so no frost on windshield. These use around .1 gallon (diesel) hr and in 1 hr your engine is warm and ready to run. The system taps into your fuel tank. Best $ I have spent besides buying the truck.

You might try re-routing and the fan belt has in post number 38 in this thread,
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t=belt+routing
about half way down. Here is a picture of the routing.

The Post has the belt number and it.
