engine and trans. removal
#2
I took mine out yesterday. I probably had 5-6 hrs in it with two people. We work slow, took are time but it cam out yesterday. I left the trans/transfer case in. I used a 36 inch steel bar to hold the trans up with two bolts after the engine was out.
You dont have to remove the engine mount bolts, the frame is slotted (gunk made it so you couldnt see that on mine) . I did remove the valve the covers which proved needed to get cleareance on the cowl at #5 and #6. The engine needs to come up a couple inches to get out of the mounts. The ps lines proved (low pressure) didnt want to come off, so I cut them with the idea of replacing them anyways. Today Im gonna start hitting it with a lot of degreaser, 1/4 million miles builds up......
