ENGINE DIES
I'AM HAVE A SMALL PROBLEM WITH ME TRUCK<br>NORMAL OP TEMP,WITH A LOAD ON,HIT THE FUEL PPEDAL<br>RATHER FAST AND LET GO THE ENGINE DIES,NO PROBLEM<br>RESTARTING IT.ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS ???

mine does that very thing. I dont think its my idle though. THe truck clanks real bad when i put in in gear. Its much worse in reverse. I think if i raised my idle, the clank would get worse. IT idles about 900 or so in park about 600 in gear.

1ST CUMNZ, Also think that your idle could be too low. Not sure on your model but am guessing it should be around 900 rpm.<br>bigbaddiesel: what happens if you hold the brake on, put it in drive and then shift it to reverse? Does this make the clunk sound louder?

bigbaddiesel<br>You might want to check the band adjustment. It is easy to adjust on the outside. Loosen the lock nut about 3 turns; tighten the adjuster to 72 inch pounds, and then back off 1 1/2 to 1 7/8 turns.
