Electrical Problem

Has anybody ever experienced a problem with all their lights dimming. It kinda acts like something hot touches a ground. It dims everything instantaneously to where I have no electric power at all except maybe a faint e-brake light. I have noticed the left terminal boot on the intake heater looks burnt, and also the battery terminals look as though they have gotten pretty HOT also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, and it does this periodically then quits and goes back to normal. Thanks

To start with , it may be normal , the grid heater cycle on & off , need more info to tell , what temps are you seeing , I think that they are coming under about 40*F , if you have lose connections , they will get hot , disconnect those connections , clean to clear metal , put a dielectric grease on all connections , batteries use a different chemical to keep connections good .
Get the basics covered like what I said above , then see if problem goes away , if not , then start trouble shooting , load test batteries ect.

Definitely not the normal cycling, it would completely kill the truck in a split second. But thanks for the input. I got to looking around and found a loose wire with a bare end, so I fixed that and tightened up the battery terminals. Hopefully that solves the problem. Thanks for the help though!
