Easy way to access Star Wheel
I have read a lot of threads about removing the dreaded cap screw, to access the Star Wheel. I've read "use an 8mm allen wrench and hit it with a hammer", "use vice grips", "use a chisel"? A chisel on the AFC???? [eyecrazy

So this weekend I looked at mine and here is what I did. A 5/16th hex head, socket driver, which is the same size as an 8mm, with a 6 inch extension and a ratchet takes the plug right out. All 3/8ths drive. Couldn't be easier.

Also, ran the wheel all the way forward, No smoke, but I run a K&N filter. Does have a bit more pep and spool up is noticeably quicker.

This method worked on both my trucks.

Hope this helps some one!

Yea, I always heard the smoke could be real big on acceleration, but I got zero and I have the wheel as far forward as it will go. Course, I don't want the smoke either . Although some seem to like it.

After I adjusted mine all the way forward there was a noticeable difference in smoke. I also noticed that on takeoff, it seemed to be a little more responsive.
Just my .02

Rich
