dually spacers steel or alum??

dually spacers steel or alum??
i have a 95 3500 cummins 4x4 all stock with 235 85 16 kelly safari tsr tires.the rear tires are almost touching with even 80lbs air in them with no load.looking at 2" spacers but was wondering if anyone has broken the alum ones?should i go steel to be safe?thx
