I'm at maybe 850?

Runs great, starts fast...

But I hold it at 1000 when I start her in the AM

Have mine at 950 or so year round with the AC off, no issues yet, but its not real cold down here

I accidently advanced the rack a month or so ago, and it was at 850-875ish... busts off instantly, pulls from a dead stop easy, etc.

filled up with B20 today, and idle is 900-925ish right now... not complaining

Mine idles at 850 year round, in neutral. It seems to do good in the cold months.

idle

High idle solenoid works well at 1250-1300.

I'm not hijacking you're post but i have a question after what you poated. you said you hold the pedal down to 1K rpms.

Now do you guys let the truck warm up before taking off, when its really cold?

I usually let it idle for about 20 seconds (time to get seatbelt on and ready to go). Then I drive easily until the temp gauge comes up.I was told to keep the rpms under 2K until the engine reached operating temperature. Just curious, as to how others handle the cold.

If its cold out(right around zero or colder) Ill sit with mine around 1k untill i start to get some heat out of the heater, then I drive it nice and easy untill there is good heat coming.
