Diesel Chrysler Voyager
Have just read the motoring section of a newspaper in South Africa and there is a test drive review of the 2005 Voyager. It appears that for 2005 the Voyager has as one of the engine options a 2.8 liter, 4 cylinder, common rail turbo diesel. No word on who makes this engine. It's called the 2.8 CRD. The reporter did a test drive in a mountainous area and found that the diesel outperformed the 3.3 liter gasser. On the test drive there were also a couple of gasser Voyagers and both of them used over half a tank of gas. The diesel only used a quarter tank. The reporter calls the 3.3 gasser wimpish compared to the performance of the diesel.
The reporter also mentioned that this diesel engine has already proved itself in the Jeep Cherokee range of 4X4's.
Maybe I am behind the times, but this is the first I have heard of a diesel in either the Voyager or a Cherokee. Has anyone else heard of this diesel in any Chrysler products?

That must be one awesome little diesel. I have a 3.3 and have had another one in a '93 Caravan and I thought theu were pretty good engines. I would love to "test drive" one of the diesel models.
