DeTuning

Well I turned the power up on my Truck and killed the stock transmission, So I have about 1000 miles on my 47re rebuild and decided i want to detune it as much as I can so the tranny lives as long as possible.

Right now I have these things that Im going to leave as is:

17* Timing
215 Injectors
4k GSK

Right now I have a 100 plate FF(This is where the stock plate got ground into) I also have a 10 plate. So im guessing i should put the 10 plate back in much further back?

My star wheel is also turned up, how far should that be adjusted back?

I built my transmission stronger so it should handle a bit more power then stock fine. My fuel mileage should stay near the same correct?

Thanks
Dave

I would leave the 100 in but slide it back to the middle.
If you can keep your foot out of it accelerating the starwheel will make no difference.
Mpgs should stay the same.

Is the middle considered stock location?

Thereabouts.
You might be able to see the marks where it was originally.
I always scribe a line before removing the stocker for future reference.
I've seen stock positions in the full range from front to rear, guess it was designed that way for a reason beyond folks sliding them for more hp.
Most are about in the center though.
If you slide it too far back you won't like it at all now that you're used to full forward.

the afc controls fuell in relation to boost.. you tighten it and it dumps more fuel which can actually make the turbo laggier. you dial it back and it puts in less fuel which can also make the turbo laggier but it should be tuned to your combination. it wouldnt be the cause of ur trans going. Take your fuel plate(which ever one you want to use) and push it either back to stock (the middle) or put it all the way back (defueling it even farther) If you have a boost elbow or a way of adjusting the boost turn it down too stock was about 20psi.
I really don't think you need to de-tune it just for the trans. Ive been runing a bone stock trans ever since i started modding my truck and i haven't hurt it yet. Its all in how and when you use the loud pedal that makes the difference between blowing things up and saving parts.

Well i took it to a diesel shop when i first got it he did something to my wastegate, there is no boost elbow but i could hit 28 psi FF on stock plate then 34psi on the 100 plate. What do you think they did?

Probably disconnected the line to the wastegate and plugged it.
