It will be quite a bit louder outside, but inside, it wont make much difference at all unless riding with the windows down. it sure will sound sweet though. Never will I own a CTD with a stock exhaust . They also get a deeper, better tone if you even just take the cattalytic converter off, and leave the muffler, and it should help performance some. We need pics when you get the truck!

straight piping the factory exhaust isn't bad... I'm running a hollow cat and straight pipe, and it isn't bad at all... I wouldn't have any problem having my 3yr old niece in there for an extended trip.
I can't say the same about my old truck w/ straight 5" stacks!

If your exhaust system is in really good shape, I would just remove the cat and replace the muffler with a straight through type and see how you like it. My system is original at nine years and 122k, so it's not a strech that yours is too. I will be replacing mine in the spring with a 4" stainless system from the manifold back with no cat and muffler as above.
KDP first!! Mine was almost out when I checked it in the fall. Luckily we had a few good days and I did it before winter. If I had let it go, I would have been out of luck.
Congrats on the new truck, you will LOVE it!
