Coolant Temp Sensors...95 2500
Has anyone bought an aftermarket coolant temperature sensor and it not read correctly? My truck has a brand new thermostat (OE Cummins) and coolant temp sensor (O'Reillys).
With the new sensor installed, I had the original thermostat that ran hot (220°) at road speed, and cooled down at a shop (190°), an O'Reillys thermostat that did the same thing, and an OE Cummins thermostat that cycles between 190° and 220°.
I'm hell bent and determined that the coolant temp sensor is not working properly. Anyone else run into this??

rather than have my local Cummins store dig up a part number, I ordered another one from the Dodge dealer for $30. A far cry from the $60 I paid O'Reillys. O'Reillys IS however sending me another one to replace the "faulty" which I will put in a pot of water and heat up to check resistance before it goes near my truck.
I'm going to check all three out of the truck and see what kinds of differences i get. I'm curious.

It was when I pulled the head and forgot to take it out before hand, and I snapped it in two.
