cng injection?
i want to know more about cng. where do you get a tank from? how much psi do you need to do any good? can i use the same stuff that they run the motors on in the oil field---- i can get that from the ranch for free to about 700 psi. will it work on a 12v or on a 7.3 powerstroke? if i get a compressor, can i hook it up to thenat gas line at the ranch and compress it to 2500 psi or so? can i use old oxygen bottles to store it in?? i read in the diesel power magazine about a duramax getting 38 mpg! i want this, especially if i can get the fuel for free and rig up a tank system for next to nothing. i have a 1/2 ton ford with a 5.9 and a 5-speed that i want to do a cng injection on. it alredy gets 25+ mpg. but i want 50!!

CNG tanks on transit buses come from Lincoln Composites

Working with CNG is dangerous, not from the natural gas, but the "compressed" side. A high pressure failure in your tank or lines is very impressive.
I'll get a copy of Diesel Power and read up on the D-Max project.

well, in the magazine it isnt a "project" it is just a tiny article about fuel milege and basically says that he got 38mpg in the test they ran and he claims to get 50 or 55. but thats not proven. either way, 38mpg is impressive to me. and i wish they would do a project on it. i am going to write them and see if they will do a project like that soon.

I imagine that the DOT would have a fit if they found you on the road with 02 bottles filled with something other than 02.
Might wanna check into that beforehand.
